Back to work......

well the time has come and I'm so sad. I am greatful for my new position, and that I don't have to go back to work full time. I feel like life has come full circle with my new position. I will be teaching part time for a small Parks & Rec. center! Part- Time Pre-K and 2 other early childhood classes. I am so blessed to have my retired mom close enough to watch Gabe for my 17 hours a week. I am also blessed that Lupe believed in me enough to support my decision to quit my full time teaching job, and take such a risk. Although, I am so sad at the thought of leaving Gabe- even with my mom! I pray I will do good when I start next week!

my sweet boy!

Gabe and I have had our first adventure alone.....(just running errands). I felt so victorious getting us both ready, out the door, and not forgetting anything! The best part was that he slept the whole time which made it easier!!! Daddy has gone back to work..football season is upon us so coaches go to school earlier than the rest of the teachers....

Living and Learning

Everyday is different! I am slowly learning all the tricks of mommy- hood! This little cutie is teaching me the ways like a little Yoda! We are having so much fun...now that is after getting adjusted to a couple hours of sleep a night. Gabe is finally starting to smile and will brighten up your day! I love looking into those big brown eyes......you can get lost in them!

He is Wonderful!

Gabriel Mateo was born un June 12, 2007 at 4:51pm.
I had to have a c-section because Gabe had gone to the bathroom (meconium) inside the womb. The dr. waited as long as possible, but I would not dilate over 3 cm. So as soon as it was decided to be the best way, it only took about 20 min. I never had to even start pushing, it was a fast birth.......after the 6 hours of waiting, having contractions, and getting an epidural! So this picture of him 3 days old on his first ride.

Still Getting Ready!

Ok, Gabe's room is pretty much ready and in order. He won't be in it really yet anyway since he will be sleeping in our room for at least the first 2 months! My nephew Wyatt is still sleeping in the crib that Gabriel will eventually be using, so that will of course complete his nursery, but we are in no hurry! We have had 3 baby showers so far, and were "showered" with lots of love and gifts! We still have 2 more showers to go! Gabe is so loved already, and everyone is excitedly awaiting his arrival, including mommy & daddy! Oh this is his finished mural that my mom and I did for his room! I love going in there it is so fun and cheery, and I hope he will love it as much as we all do.

Crunch Time!!

ok, 8 months!!! holy moly!! 32 weeks......

This boy is moving alot which is fun. Then after dinner he puts on a little show and me & lupe get a kick out of watching my belly wave, and protrude.....it's like the movie Alien!!

Now I have gotten a pregnancy rash on my tummy that I want to scratch ALL day...
This would have to be the worst part so far. The dr. thinks it could be something that Im allergic to; like soap, detergent or lotion, but I haven't used anything new, so Im totally stumped!! I just wish it would go away :(

Me so sleepy!

This is a picture shan took with her camera...very cool tricks you can do with it :)
I can't believe how tired I am ALL OVER AGAIN!!

I had no idea that the 3rd trimester is like the 1st in regards to being tired.......
My kids at school wear me out and by 4pm im ready to lay on the couch and not get up until it's time to go crawl in my bed. Lupe asked what was for dinner the other night, and I just shrugged my shoulders and said "I don't know...cereal?, but whatever you get get me some too, because I can't move!"
I go to sleep usually abotu 8:30 or 9:00pm. I wake up at 5:30am and am EXHAUSTED!!! I take about 20-25 min. shower, and then get ready. By the time I'm on my way to work I can barely keep my eyes open. Im more irratible at school, and it makes me feel bad :(
But I told my principal that Im not returning and it felt good to know that I created a job for myself, and that at least I can be home with Gabe a couple of days a week. Then it makes me feel good knowing that my mom will be with him when I can't...... although it will hard to leave him at all!!!!

7 months. where has the time gone? Gabriel will be here in no time!!
Well his room is complete and all we are missing is the crib from Aunt Shannon. Lupe, Milo and I take a lot of trips to his nursery because we all love going in there. Yes, Milo too- I think he thinks it's his special room ;)

Mommy Painting

So here is the mural so far. Every night I try to come home and do a little bit of work on it. It has been so fun to see the transformation of it too! I can't wait to see it completed! My mom is coming over next week (SPRING BREAK!) to help, and I'm so glad because I need her artistic ability. I'm also so glad it's spring break....... I have been waiting and waiting for it. Although when it's over the rest of the school year will just drag by... :(
I can't believe I am already 6 months pregnant! I think what things will be like when he gets here and how different life will be. Just the everyday things like watching tv, or making dinner. All those things will be modified when the new boss of the house comes home!!!

Frog Family!

oh you ladies are so sweet in your comments! Im feeling like a blob these days, but don't get me wrong, pregnancy is so AMAZING!! ok, you don't get the best sleep, your body changes alot, and you can't drink what you want to, however....it will be worth it...(so I hear)! I'm kidding- Of course it will be worth it!!

Ok so this is the picture I'm going off of for the mural in Gabriel's room. But I will only be putting one froggie baby on the lilypad instead of two!!

Where have I been??

Well I am getting bigger. I am now 5 1/2 months. I really think in the past couple of weeks, I have just popped out!
I can feel Gabriel moving now, but it's still too small for Lupe to feel by touching my stomach!
Everything is so exciting right now! My sister brought over the changing table and every piece of clothing my nephews have grown out of.....his closet is FULL! I talk to him often and tell him where we are going and what I am doing. Also his cute little daddy has started reading a bedtime story to us every night!! I have fallen in love with my husband all over again. He will be a WONDERFUL daddy!

Here he is!!

WOW!! I haven't posted in a while!

Well the most important thing is that introducing Gabriel Mateo!!

We went on Wednesday the 24th at 19 weeks, to go and see this beautiful prince for the first time. The Dr. did all the tests and everything looked great. Then we saw the famous diaper shot (not posted) to see that is was definitely a boy!

Lupe was very proud! I love this 3D picture because it looks like he is already smiling,...just like me!! :)

15 Weeks Baby!!

Ok, here we are at week 15!
Oh, and Happy New Year, and I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

Around next week and on is when I should start feeling this little cookie start kicking!! They say it actually feels more like bubbles at first, or butterflies, but I can't wait!!
It's weird that the last appt. was the last time I heard the heartbeat and any other thing relating to develpment. It just makes me nervous not being able to hear the heartbeat myself, or feel anything because I just want to make sure everything is ok.......

It's amazing to look at this picture and to think that is the size of the baby now...well with a microscope.
Here is an update on development.
At around 4 inches long, crown to rump, your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 ounces. He's busy inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid, which will help develop the air sacs in his lungs. His legs are growing longer than his arms now, and he can move all his joints and limbs. That means his hands are more functional, too. Sweat glands are appearing, and although his eyelids are fused shut, he can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, he's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but his taste buds are beginning to form. And if you have an ultrasound, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or girl! (Don't be disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down the gender depends somewhat on how clear the picture is and the position of your baby during the ultrasound; he may be curled or turned in such a way as to keep you in suspense.)

Well, my next appt. is on January 4th, to have the Quadruple Screening. We won't be having an ultrasound to find out if everything is ok, and hopefully the gender until the Feb. visit.

Yum Yum and a Gum Gum!

OH MY!!!!

I had a dream that I was on a Chick Fil A cruise on a yacht and all they served was Chick Fil A food. It was the best cruise ever! Thats what I crave the most!

Needless to say as soon as I got up, Lupe and I went to eat breakfast there!

And the water dreams that my sister said I would have started. My otehr dream was that me & Lupe were going to get a child's bed that someone was throwing away, and we had to swim to get to it. So we were hanging on this crappy life preserver and Lupe was weighing it down and I was almost drowning!!

Crazy funny dreams!!

12 Weeks

The first trimester is officially over!!
So I hear that the tiredness will stop, but not sure when.....I'm still really freakin' tired! I can't even wake up in the morning!! I don't want to get out of bed, I don't' want to get out of the shower. I have been laying back down after the shower, then I have to start the process all over again with getting out of bed!!!
Man, I wish it were summer already! I'm so looking forward to Christmas break.
More info about the little cookie in my "oven"
Your baby's hit the 2-inch mark (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce. Her face is beginning to look more human. Her eyes, which started out on the sides of her head, have moved closer together on her face, and her ears are near their final positions on the sides of her head. Your baby's intestines, which have grown so rapidly that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into her abdominal cavity about now. Her kidneys are secreting urine into her bladder. Her nerve cells have been multiplying rapidly, and synapses (neurological pathways in the brain) are forming. Your baby may have acquired more reflexes by now, including sucking, and she'll even squirm if you prod your abdomen, though you still won't be able to feel her movement for several weeks.

The best beat in the world!

Well, we went yesterday and heard the baby's heartbeat!!!
It was a moving experience hearing the little body inside working so hard to develop. Lupe went to, and it was so exciting to hear it!
It was so fast and the dr. said it's because the baby is working so hard and that it will slow down in a couple of months!
oh and I lost 2 and a half pounds!
I am not sure how, but at least I didn't get the 3rd degree for gaining too much!

They called and wanted to re-schedule my appt.... so I guess thats good, but we shall see.....

The little bambino!

WOW!! 9 weeks! it seems like it's already taken a long time to get here. Looking at what is inside my belly looks like the beginning of an actual baby!! Wow!! its so AMAZING! little hands, and starting to get the little feet that will be kicking me soon! I can see a little ear, and eyes forming...God is such a genius!
here is info from the best site in the world: Baby Center-
How your baby's growing: Your new resident is nearly an inch long — barely the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce, but he's poised for rapid weight gain now that his basic physical structure is in place. He's also starting to look more and more human. His embryonic "tail" is now completely gone and his body parts — including organs, muscles, and nerves — are kicking into gear. His eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. He has earlobes, and by week's end, the inner workings of his ears will be complete. His upper lip is fully formed, too, and his mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The tips of his fingers are slightly enlarged where his touch pads are developing. All major joints — his shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees, and ankles — are working, enabling your baby to move his limbs. As for his heart, it has divided into four chambers now, and the valves have started to develop. External sex organs are there, but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks.

No more excuses!

So the Dr. has strict orders for the "right foods"....
There are no more excuses since I have now been to the Dr. and he has told me all the rules!!

Lupe is already being a "Food Nazi" and is keeping me in check. I really want Chick Fil A- chicken sandwich with polynesian sauce and some waffle fries...... but, I have been told by the dr. that there is nothing for me at fast food places, so don't even go there. :(

I can see it!!

Ok- look on the picture and there is a little black sack with white inside (towards the top on the upper left side). So in that black sack (it looks like 2 bubbles in it) is the baby "bean" and it's attached to the yolk sack....I will attach a pic. from baby center on what you are actually looking at!!

it was very exciting to get that confirmation and to see a little flutter of a heartbeat!!!
